Southern California is a wonderful place to live. If you are willing to drive 1-2 hours from where you live, you have a plenty of beautiful places to visit. Will and I have Wednesdays and Thursdays off. Since our weekend is smack in the middle of the week, we can cover a lot more miles in 60 minutes. If you live in LA, you know what I am talking about. We discuss often the perks of having a mid-week weekend; bottom line, we pay less and have to deal with less crowds. Past "weekend", we decided to visit Riley's Farm in Yucaipa, CA. We left around 11:00 am, arrived there with zero traffic. We had every intention to get some delicious apples. I actively checked their website for "crop status" and Tuesday night it was listed as "fair crop". Upon arrival, I could not believe we stepped into 45 degrees. Fog covered the distant mountains and we could see our breath. Go back 7 days, and we had a 95 degree day. The pure thrill of the chill air gave me goosebumps. We were prepared and happily covered our heads with a hat and a beanie. Very regrettably, we were told that the apple crop ran out the day before. Slightly dissapointed, but we made the best of the beautiful day!
